Materials
Material specifications across all three hangers;
Disused BMX bike frame and wheel; sourced from local Beeston skip
Iroko Wood; can be sourced from SL Hardwoods Ltd (www.slhardwoods.co.uk)
Ply wood; can also be sourced from SL Hardwoods Ltd
Nuts and bolts; taken from the bike
Metal Hooks; Made from spokes from the wheels
Beeswax; sourced from local DIY shops
Processes used
Cutting; Hacksaw- can be bought from local DIY shops (it is possible that all cutting is done this way by hand, but to speed up the process, Band saw can be used)
Band saw cutting – to do this is can be sent off to external construction companies at a small charge.
Sandblasting – this process can be completed if sent to external construction companies, at a small charge.
Drilling; can be done with an electric hand drill. Different sized drill bits needed: 3mm, 2.4mm, 7mm, 25mm Forstner, 18mm Forstner
Lathing; this process can be completed if sent to external construction companies, at a small charge.
Sanding; can be done by hand or on a disc sander.
Fixing, gluing & Finishing; Glues and waxes sourced from local DIY shop., England, Fixtures & Fittings
